Critical Role Season Four Introduces the Warriors Table

From the very beginning of Campaign 4, recently appointed game master Brennan Mulligan has kept viewers on edge with rich lore, a diverse cast of characters, and a gripping narrative featuring angels, evil spirits, and dark forces growing in power within the city.

Warning: Revealing details for the third episode of the new season lie ahead.

The Combat-Oriented Party Introduced

The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and introduced the premier party of characters who will separate from the primary party to embark on their separate journey, apart from the remaining groups.

The Soldiers table consists of Teor Pridesire (portrayed by Travis Willingham), Thimble (Laura Bailey), the fierce warrior (Whitney), the cleric (Sam Riegel), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).

Dividing the Cast

With 13 cast members, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at a single group would be impossible.

This explains, the initial installments of Campaign 4 serve as an Introduction, weaving together the individual narratives before dividing into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Questers.

The Nature of the Soldiers Table

Per the DM, the Soldiers table is for participants who prefer a classically intense combat and conflict-driven narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.

At first glance, figures such as the reluctant priest the cleric might look unsuited, but the events of the latest installment make it clear why these five characters are best suited for the Soldiers table.

Why They Must Go

First, the party understands precisely where to proceed after a brutal initial meeting with The Crow Keepers.

Casimir of Thjazi—whose death started the narrative’s action—manipulated The Crow Keepers for his personal gain, entering the secret base, striking the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to dispose of.

The antagonist then paid off his debts and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, north of Dol-Makjar, with Teor’s brother close behind.

Personal Motivations

Moreover, each character has a specific drive to leave the city Dol-Makjar:

  • The rogue, as the close ally and closest confidant, wants retribution.
  • The adventurer has experience in the region and advises that it is a hostile location.
  • Tyranny and The cleric, having defied his relatives’ demands to kill Teor and instead saved him, have no other options.
  • Yet, their position as important members in House Halovar could enable the team access places they normally couldn’t.
  • Furthermore, Teor pledged a life debt to The cleric for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.

Pursued by Authorities

In addition, all of them are hunted by the rulers that control the city for a multiple motives, making remaining behind too risky:

  • Thimble and Kattigan are known criminals.
  • The strong figure and Wicander turned against House Halovar and the horde of evil beings they are allied with.
  • Teor is targeted for elimination by the clan.

This results in them no alternative but to head to the remote area in pursuit of Casimir.

Upcoming Developments

According to episode three’s Cooldown, we discover that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the rest of the participants to round up the Questers and Strategists tables.

Viewers can anticipate discovering which adventurers will be assigned to which table in the season’s concluding setup installment, streaming live on next week.
